Halloween Fun in Shelby Township 2018

Halloween family fun* is happening all month long in Shelby Township! Here are just a few ideas for all ages:

Shelby Forest will be hosting a Trunk or Treat party on Saturday, October 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the community clubhouse. Come dressed in your costumes. Volunteers needed. For more information, call (586) 247-1650.

  • Teen Mystery Night at the Shelby Township Library
  • Friday, October 12, 6-7:30 p.m. A night of mystery and murder in the 1960s. You are the detective and will investigate evidence, crime scenes and suspects to solve the crime. Refreshments provided. Learn more.
  • River Bends Park Halloween Spooktacular

  • Fall Color Wagon Tours at Stoney Creek Metropark
  • Saturdays: October 13, 20 and 27 (call for times) Enjoy a nature wagon ride through the woods and fields of the Metropark, then gather around a fire ring for stories, cider and donuts. Preregistration required, (586) 781-9113. Learn more.
  • Shelby Township Senior Center’s “Bewitched” Dinner Dance
  • Friday, October 19 at 5:30 p.m. Dance to the music of Tri-City Plus and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner, served at 6 p.m. Learn more.
  • Haunted Nature Center at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center
  • Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, 6-9 p.m. The nature center is transformed into a haunted nature center. Visitors will find scary costumed creatures and spooky scenes.   • Not All Sugar and Spice: Bad Women of the Mitten at the Shelby Township Library
  • Wednesday, October 24, 7 p.m. Adult program featuring Michigan true crime author Mardi Jo Link. She will share stories of Michigan women who took matters into their own hands and ran afoul of the law. Discover what makes a good Michigan woman turn bad. Learn more.
  • Ghostly Gala Luncheon at Shelby Township Senior Center
  • Thursday, October 25 at 11 a.m. Enjoy a classic Maurice salad and either minestrone or cream of potato, and some ghostly entertainment! There will also be a costume contest for those who would like to participate. Learn more.
  • Monstrous Movie Night at Shelby Twp. Municipal Grounds
  • Friday, October 26 at 6:45 p.m. A family fun event featuring the Halloween film Hocus Pocus. Bring your own lawn chairs and blankets, and be sure to wear a costume.   • Trick or Read at the Shelby Township Library
  • Saturday October 27, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. or 2 p.m.-3 p.m. A fun for all ages “Spooky Monster Magic Show!” Followed by trick-or-treating through the library. Wear your costume. Seating is limited to 100. Learn more.
  • Spider Mania at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center
  • Saturday, October 27, noon-3 p.m. Anything and everything you want to know about these eight-legged creatures. Play games, debunk myths and learn new facts about spiders. Cost is $3, per person.
